Abstract

Beyond housing is about future housing development which provides countless opportunities to the community in general and to the individual household in particular. The approach to this housing project is the ability to sustain the architectural values and at the same time supporting the needs of the community at large. Apart from addressing the physical environment, the scheme manages to produce bold ideas in terms of economic and social-cultural aspects. The modest environmental impact is indicated in the various gardens and linked open spaces. The scheme has successfully incorporated construction technology in order to emphasise the quality and buildability of the proposed housing project. The development also focuses on the affordability of owner-occupied housing units and private rental housing for a specific income range.
