The Cosmic
Relief and sculpture is a 3 dimensional exercise intended to
provide a three dimensional experience for the students.
This will enable them to explore, experiment and exercise
a spatial composition from a very simple relationship to a
more complex space articulation. Circle as one of the most
significant geometric forms is chosen as a basic intervention
for students to explore. Dynamic, energetic and vibrant
are the basis to develop the three dimensional quality by
reinforcing its dimension and perspectives. Materials of
different textural quality is applied for a richness and variety
in the visual composition. The construction for both projects
is made up of elements from a variety of materials. They
include plywood, mild steel, plastic tube, metal plate
and even paper cups. It is the art of merging an idea
and feeling with tangible materials so that the essential
concept is inseparable from its material embodiment.
The study of abstract composition and relationship is
done through a series of processes. Generating and
developing ideas is expressed through sketches, mockup
and a series of space experimentation and personal
experience. This will not only elicit visual feelings but will
further develop the skill of abstraction which is vital in
visual and physical composition..
