Abstract

Overall, the schemes we selected portray good ‘ideation’ from extensive form exploration that lacks technical consideration and contextual response befitting the intention of a ‘design esquisse’. Students exhibited bold attempts in finding alternative solutions to a familiar problem and coming up with refreshing ideas relating to spatial organisation. Most proposed schemes conjure sculptural forms which enhance the otherwise formal setting of Dataran Merdeka. Students are recommended to further integrate contextual appraisals and responses while reducing theoretical commentaries to further strengthen their design proposals.
