Abstract

The student chose to apply the principle of balance in producing this artwork. An understanding of asymmetrical balance is shown in this painting. The selection of swirls as subject matter is very simple yet an interesting choice as they injected the sense of movement in the painting. The student has shown an ability to transform a simple idea into a mode of expression. The swirls were presented in different sizes to break the monotonous in the design and the effect of varied line sizes creates an illusion of depth and dynamicity in the painting.
